Light tube: Toobe floor lamp by Kartell 

The Toobe floor lamp from the pen of Pietro Ferruccio Laviani is based on the idea of using an extruded PMMA tube which, depending on its length, creates either a floor or a table lamp. Thanks to an innovative colouring technique, Toobe is the first product by Kartell with a "tint", which creates a special light effect in the cylindrical lamp body. A cut-out handle lends more functionality to the visually functional and modern luminaire.

Kartell - Plastic for Art 

The Italian company Kartell is one of the most dazzling brands in the world of design. The beautifully shaped products made in Milan combine industrial know-how with an unusual design language, which has earned the manufacturer a great reputation on the international stage. It is above all the famous plastic furniture that has already achieved cult status. 

Ferruccio Laviani 

Ferruccio Laviani first began learning the craft of violin making, but broke off his apprenticeship to study architecture and design at the Polytechnic in Milan. By 1983, he had already worked for the designer Michele De Lucci and later became his partner. in 1991, he finally went into business for himself and celebrated a great success with Kartell's trade fair appearance at the Salone internazionale del mobile. In the following years, he developed, among others, the famous ceiling lamp Fly and the popular table lamps Bourgie and Battery.
