Description
New edition of a true icon of furniture design: Antony armchair LIMITED EDITION by Vitra
The Antony chair was designed by Jean Prouvé in the early 1950s for the Cité Universitaire in Antony near Paris. It is one of the last pieces of furniture from the pen of the French designer and engineer. Its construction, consisting of the transverse tubular strut that stabilises the legs and the two strong lateral sheet metal profiles that support the dynamically curved seat shell, is world-famous. Vitra produced Antony from 2000 to 2012. Today, Antony is no longer part of the Prouvé collection, but its significance remains - not only for design history, but also for Vitra's company history - as it was the first chair to be included in the Vitra Design Museum's collection.Jean Prouvé - French design
Throughout his life, Jean Prouvé described himself as a designer, as he was both the designer and producer of his designs. From letter openers, lights and furniture to prefabricated houses - the work of the French designer is particularly extensive and encompasses pretty much everything that can be constructed and industrially produced.Material and format
The Antony chair in the Limited Edition is made with a moulded wood seat shell and a red lacquered metal frame. It is 50.5 cm wide, 67.1 cm deep and 88 cm high. The seat height is 32.5 cm, the seat depth 57 cm, the seat width 48 cm and the backrest height 56 cm.This strictly limited new edition is available exclusively from us online - a real collector's item for design lovers.More - Dimensions / Infos
