Light tube: Toobe table lamp by Kartell 

The Toobe table lamp from the pen of Pietro Ferruccio Laviani is based on the idea of using an extruded PMMA tube which, depending on its length, creates either a floor or a table lamp. Thanks to an innovative colouring technique, Toobe is the first product by Kartell with a "tint", which creates a special light effect in the cylindrical lamp body. A cut-out handle gives the visually functional and modern luminaire more functionality.

Ferruccio Laviani 

Ferruccio Laviani first started to learn the trade of a violin maker, but broke off the apprenticeship to study architecture and design at the Polytechnic in Milan. By 1983, he had already worked for the designer Michele De Lucci and later became his partner. in 1991, he finally went into business for himself and celebrated a great success with Kartell's trade fair appearance at the Salone internazionale del mobile. In the following years, he developed, among others, the famous ceiling lamp Fly and the popular table lamps Bourgie and Battery.
