The design

The exciting design that was to turn the history of upholstered furniture on its head was created as early as 1969. Thanks to new process techniques for shaping the upholstery and the specially developed metal frame, which encloses the upholstery like a clamp, the Soriana furniture can do completely without internal support. The design was so convincing that it was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1970 as a masterpiece of complexity .

Today's new edition not only inspires on the outside, but has also worked hard on the inside. In keeping with the spirit of sustainability , Cassina has developed a special bio-plastic of plant origin together with Tobia Scarpa, which is used in Soriana. In addition, part of the upholstery consists of 100% recycled PET. Brava, Soriana!

Material and format

The Soriana stool is based on a substructure made of recyclable wooden board. The internal upholstery consists of BioFoam® Microspheres, the overlying upholstery is made of 100% recycled PET from the Plastic Bank®. A clamp made of steel with powder coating provides the distinctive shape of the seating furniture.

Soriana can be configured to suit your taste and interior design style in numerous fabric and leather finishes. The stool measures 95 cm in width, 82 cm in depth and 42 cm in height.
