Elegant and at the same time casual, expansively comfortable and simply revolutionary - this perfectly describes the Soriana collection by designer couple Afra & Tobia Scarpa.
The exciting design, which was to turn the history of upholstered furniture on its head, was created as early as 1969. Thanks to new process techniques for shaping the upholstery and the specially developed metal frame that encloses the upholstery like a clamp, the Soriana furniture can do completely without internal support. The design was so convincing that it was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1970 as a masterpiece of complexity .
Today's new edition not only inspires on the outside, but has also worked hard on the inside. In keeping with the spirit of sustainability, Cassina has developed a special organic plastic of plant origin together with Tobia Scarpa, which is used in Soriana. In addition, part of the upholstery consists of 100% recycled PET. Brava, Soriana!
Cassina - a traditional Italian company
Founded in 1927 by two brothers, Cassina was already doing pioneering work shortly afterwards: through the close cooperation of architects and designers from different fields, revolutionary innovations were achieved with regard to materials and design language

Material and format
The Soriana armchair is based on a base made of recyclable wood. The internal upholstery consists of BioFoam® Microspheres, the upholstery above is made of 100% recycled PET from the Plastic Bank®. A clamp made of steel with powder coating provides the distinctive shape of the seating furniture.
Soriana can be configured to suit your taste and interior design style in numerous fabric and leather versions. The armchair measures 95 cm in width, 105 cm in depth and 71 cm in height. The seat height is 42 cm.
Tip: For a rounded look, the Soriana armchair is best complemented by the other seating elements in the collection: the sofa and the stool. You can also discover these here in the online shop. The very brave combine various surfaces and colours here!
