A lounge chair with a high backrest that offers the ultimate in comfort - we would like to introduce the Soft Pad Chair EA 222 from Vitra. A tilting mechanism that can be adjusted to the body weight ensures a particularly pleasant and individually adapted sitting feeling.
The Soft Pad Group chair collection by Ray & Charles Eames dates from 1969. It is similar to the Aluminium Group Chairs in construction and shape, but the sewn-on upholstery creates an interesting contrast to the slender silhouette of its relatives.

Charles and Ray Eames – Design duo
The couple Eames is one of the most important personalities in the field of design in the 20th century. In addition to designing furniture, they have also made films, photographed and put together exhibitions. Vitra is the only legitimate manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and size
The seat and backrest of Vitra's Soft Pad Chair EA 222 consist of five sewn-on cushion units with polyurethane foam upholstery in leather or premium leather. The side profiles and tension brackets are made of polished die-cast aluminium and are available chrome-plated or powder-coated in deep black.
The chair has an adjustable backrest mechanism. And its base is a 4-star base made of die-cast aluminium which, like the frame itself, is chrome-plated or powder-coated in deep black.
