Sculptural: the Roost aluminum double eggcup by Alessi. The fact that roost is an eggcup is not immediately apparent - and that's a good thing. The Alessi eggcup is more a design object than a kitchen accessory. Classic eggcups exist already enough in the world.
Roost consists of two identical eggcups. So that the egg gets firm hold, the egg cup is equipped with three hollows inside. The trick: If you no longer need the egg cups, you can store them to save space by putting one on top of the other (see last picture). And since no egg is the same as another, the Roost egg cup is also suitable for eggs of different sizes.Egg
The reason why the designer Adam Goodrum devoted himself with dedication to his Roost eggcup is obvious. His parents once kept chickens themselves. And the collection of fragile eggs was the highlight of the day, because the chickens showed a certain amount of creativity when laying eggs and the eggs were found in the plastic container of the lawn mower, for example.
Designer
The Australian Adam Goodrum has worked for many well-known design labels: from Cappelini to Normann Copenhagen. Shortly after completing his studies, he was pleased to receive several awards, such as the "Young Designer of the Year" or the "Bombay Sapphire Design Award". In 2015, Roost was awarded with the "Alessi Design Award", an award that Alessi presents annually together with the Australian "Vogue Living".
