It first appeared on the paths of the famous Luxembourg garden in Paris in the 1920s. The aluminium product line Luxembourg reflects French lifestyle, everybody in France knows the chairs of the Jardin du Luxembourg, they are still produced by Fermob for the parks in Paris. Fermob products are known in France like colourful dogs. You can take that literally if you look at the colour chart of the French design furniture company, which has 23 shades for this armchair alone. To match the armchair, there is a low table from the series with castors, because a cup of tea, a book, a bowl of biscuits - and you have to be able to put them down or put them away - are of course also part of relaxing.
New interpretation of famous chairs
Fermob asked designer Frederic Sofia to reinterpret the famous chairs and armchairs of the Jardin du Luxembourg, which were created by the workshops of the city of Paris in 1923 and are still produced by Fermob today. The result is a series with clean lines that combines the lightness and robustness of aluminium with comfortable seats made of curved slats. With Luxembourg, Sofia has succeeded in creating a large collection of garden furniture that will inspire with timeless beauty for decades to come.
