New edition: LC17 Portemanteau Cloakroom Cassina
The LC17 Portemanteau wardrobe was first designed for the Cabanon, the house that Le Corbusier gave his wife Yvonne for her birthday in 1951. For the new edition, Cassina takes the 1957 version designed for the Unités de Camping next to the Cabanon as a model. The minimalist spaces created at the time were reminiscent of the comfort of a cabin on a cruise ship, so the design wardrobe was therefore made in a colourful version in solid oak.
Cassina - a company with tradition
Cassina was founded in 1927 by two brothers in the Italian medina. Shortly after its foundation, Cassina was already doing pioneering work. By bringing together architects and designers with a wide variety of backgrounds, interests and skills, an exciting mix of completely new ideas was created, which became characteristic of Cassina furniture. The company encouraged people to break completely new ground in the areas of materials and design language in order to turn visions into reality.
Today, Cassina is a company with a long tradition, which in the manufacture of its furniture relies on a balanced combination of manual craftsmanship and industrial production using highly developed machinery. The use of natural materials such as leather and wood ensures a high degree of individuality.
