Re-edition: K831 pendant luminaire from Midgard
The new edition of the K831 is based on a design from 1931. Its free-swinging shade allows flexible alignment of the light cone in all directions. Its lamp shade consists of hand-pressed sheet steel enamelled in two colours. An inner shade in soft white provides neutral light. The re-edition was initiated and designed in 2014 by David Einsiedler and Joke Rasch.Midgard - 100 years of controllable light
Midgard Licht GmbH is the owner of the oldest patent for controllable light, which originated in 1919 from the industrial plant Auma Ronneberger and Fischer.
Its founder Curt Fischer is regarded as the inventor of controllable light. His lamps were used in the metal workshops of the Dessau Bauhaus. The products are manufactured and assembled in Hamburg Altona, so Midgard lamps are genuine Made-in-Germany products. They are ENEC and VDE certified.
