Unusual: Ceramic Containers NO.1 Vitra
What was originally turned as a wooden model is now produced as handmade ceramic containers. Designer Alexander Girard created the shapes, which are reminiscent of apothecary jars, board game pieces and millinery tools, back in 1952 and they have lost none of their beauty since then.

Alexander Girard
Alexander Girard is known as a formative figure in post-war American design. The American was born in 1907. Girard originally studied architecture, but over the course of his career he worked as a furniture, graphic, exhibition and interior designer. Textile design was a focal point of his work. Abstract, geometric shapes and a variety of colour constellations are examples of his work.

Material and format
The vessel is made of hand-coloured ceramic. It has a diameter of 18 cm and is 33 cm high.
