The BM0253 shelving system series was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1953 to create a timeless and minimalist design for all needs. This is a cabinet with a shelf unit that is connected by simple metal struts. With its simple presence, the cabinet can fit into any room - from the living room to the kitchen, anything is possible.
A fusion of aesthetics, function and craftsmanship, which is also only made from wood from ecologically and economically sound cultivation.
Børge Mogensen - designer of Danish Modernism
During Børge Mogensen's creative career, he primarily designed durable pieces with people at the centre. He became one of the most influential furniture designers of the post-war period and a leading representative of Danish Modernism.
Mogensen's innovative designs include simple and functional wooden furniture for private and public spaces, with calm aesthetics and strong construction with high quality. He believed in visual clarity and minimal decoration as can be seen in this exhibit.
Material and format:
The cabinet, shelves and doors are made of veneer, manufactured from FSC®-certified oiled walnut wood. The frame is made of black powder-coated steel. The cabinet system measures 150cm in width, 37cm in depth and 189cm in height.
