New edition of a masterpiece: Willow armchair by Cassina 

The throne-like armchair is the new edition of a model that Charles Rennie Mackintosh gave to his native city of Glasgow in 1904 for the "Willow Tea Room". The high back, which served to separate the entrance area from the tea room, uniquely embodies Mackintosh's geometric approach and Art Nouveau style. It is thanks to first-class craftsmanship that the design could be realised with the elegant, light lattice frame. Charles Rennie Mackintosh 

His name is inextricably linked with the Glasgow School of Art. Born in 1868, Charles Rennie Mackintosh was the initiator of the founding group known as the "Glasgow School" and a famous representative of the Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century. His imposing chairs with their high backrests became design icons. 

Cassina - a traditional Italian company 

Founded in 1927 by two brothers, Cassina was already doing pioneering work shortly afterwards: the close cooperation between architects and designers from different fields led to revolutionary innovations in terms of materials and design language.

The Willow armchair made of black stained ash is 119.5 cm high, 94 cm wide and 41 cm deep. The seat height is 40 cm.
