Bikini figure: DKX-2 Wire Chair by Vitra
The Wire Chairs not only resemble the Eames Plastic Chairs in their shape, they are also direct variations of the well-known designer chairs by Vitra. With their simple four-legged tubular steel base, they fit perfectly into any setting and, in the powder-coated version, are even suitable for outdoor use .
In this variation, it is often referred to as a "bikini" due to the shape of its padding.
Charles and Ray Eames – design duo
The Eameses are among the most important figures in 20th-century design . In addition to designing furniture, they also made films, took photographs, and curated exhibitions. Vitra is the only authorized manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and format
The DKX2 is a chair with removable and reattached seat and back cushions , available in Hopsak fabric or leather . It is constructed from shaped and welded steel wire and comes in chrome-plated or powder-coated finishes. The powder-coated version is suitable for outdoor use. It measures 49 cm wide, 51 cm deep, and 85 cm high, with a seat height of 43 cm.
