Pauline Deltour – Aesthetics defined by understated brilliance and delicate details

French-born designer Pauline Deltour was known for her designs, which captivate with a remarkably simple yet beautifully detailed aesthetic. Her work was characterized by a deep curiosity about the properties of raw materials as well as the cross-industry transfer of production techniques. Together with ames founder Ana Maria Calderón Kayser, she traveled to Colombia to study local materials firsthand and learn traditional weaving techniques from artisans. Back in her Paris studio, she translated these fascinating impressions into outstanding furniture and accessory collections for ames. This is how the Cesta series came to be, impressively reflecting the talented designer’s intercultural and material-focused approach.
