Cuban flair: The Cuba Paper Cord Chair by Carl Hansen & Søn
Discover the popular Scandinavian folding chair in a new look. Unlike the previous version, the seat and backrest here consists of robust, organic paper strands that are woven by hand into a solid wickerwork. This not only gives the Cuba Chair a fresh look, but also a completely new seating comfort that adapts to the contours of the body.
In keeping with its name, the Cuba Chair, designed by Morten Gøttler, conveys at first glance a light, almost Caribbean ambience. The simple design draws attention to the high-quality materials, which interact harmoniously with each other and create a natural overall impression. The armchair can be folded up in no time at all and stored in a space-saving manner. This gives you a flexible and at the same time elegant seating arrangement for the living area - ideal for spontaneous visits!
Morten Gøttler's masterful understanding of design
Born in Copenhagen in 1944, Morten Gøttler was originally active in shipping. It is only thanks to his aesthetic feeling for wood that the autodidact was able to move into the world of product design. In 1972 he founded his own studio and from then on he designed a wide variety of things - from household goods to children's toys - before he specialized in designing modern furniture. Clear, simple forms, placed in a refined context, are still his trademark today. The Cuba Chair from 1997 is one of Morten Gøttler's most famous designs.
