Surprisingly delicate and unspeakably soft, the Little Petra VB1 lounge armchair by Andtradition Copenhagen is the essence of lounge furniture. With its comfortable and inviting shape, it allows for all kinds of sitting positions and that in any cozy environment imaginable.
Back in 1938, Little Petra was introduced at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition. The lounge chair is one of the few designs by architect Viggo Boesen that reflects the characteristic design aesthetic of 1930s Denmark. In the jargon, it is referred to as the Funkis style.
Designer - Viggo Boesen
Viggo Boesen contributed significantly to the development of the Scandinavian design aesthetic in Denmark in the 1930s. His work is characterized by the Funkis style, a kind of Nordic interpretation of Art Deco. In contrast to the prevailing mass trends of the time, such as "less is more" and "Bauhaus", Boesen was already oriented towards soft and warm aspects, creating a new form of upholstered furniture of the time.
Material and format
The lounge chair consists of a wooden frame, a filling of CMHR foam and polyester wadding and a cover of sheepskin. It is 81 cm wide, 83 cm deep and 75 cm high. The seat height is 40 cm.
