Surprisingly delicate and unspeakably soft - the Little Petra VB1 lounge chair from Andtradition Copenhagen is the essence of lounge furniture. With its comfortable and inviting shape, it allows for all kinds of sitting positions in every conceivable cosy setting.
Little Petra was presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition as early as 1938. The lounge chair is one of the few designs by architect Viggo Boesen that reflects the characteristic design aesthetic of 1930s Denmark. It is known in the trade as the Funkis style.
Designer - Viggo Boesen
Viggo Boesen made a significant contribution to the development of the Scandinavian design aesthetic in Denmark in the 1930s. His work is characterised by the Funkis style, a kind of Nordic interpretation of Art Deco. In contrast to the prevailing mass trends of the time, such as "less is more" and "Bauhaus", Boesen focussed on soft and warm aspects, creating a new form of upholstered furniture at the time.
Material and format
The lounge chair consists of a wooden frame, a filling of CMHR foam and polyester wadding. You can choose between sheepskin, Karakorum and Hallingdal 130 for the cover. It is 81 cm wide, 83 cm deep and 75 cm high. The seat height is 40 cm.
