Czech chair Viennese GTV Design

A chair from a bygone era: with the Czech chair, the designer of the same name, Hermann Czech, delights every lover of nostalgia. The chair was designed in 1994 for the Viennese manufacturer GTV Design, also known as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna.

Bentwood tradition

As early as the end of the 19th century, the Thonet brothers specialised in the manufacture of classic seating furniture, the structure of which was formed using the bentwood process with the help of steam.

Today, the Italian offshoot of the Thonet company, Wiener GTV Design, not only produces classics by the Thonet brothers, but also stylistically appropriate newer designs. These include the bentwood chair Czech, which revives and reinterprets the cult of memory.

This is exactly what GTV stands for - for future-orientated design that nevertheless adheres to traditional values.

Beautifully stable

Czech is not only visually extremely appealing, but also impresses with its inner values. The solid beech wood from which the frame is made is extremely robust. The chair legs are supported by curved elements that promise additional stability.

The ends of the chair legs are fitted with protective feet to protect the floor.

Classic dining chair

The shape and design make Czech the perfect dining chair. Please note that the above price refers to the Czech chair in the black stained version. With stained chairs, the natural wood structure shines through and is not covered - as in the picture shown here.
