Rolf Heide - master of the system concept

The modular concept was designed by the legendary German designer and interior architect Rolf Heide (1932-2020). Heide was a visionary of functional design and was known for his ability to create simple but ingenious system furniture that adapts perfectly to people's needs. His most famous work, the Stacking Lounger from 1966, is, like the Modular Plus System, proof of his design philosophy: maximum variability and longevity through reduction to the essentials. With his designs, Rolf Heide had a decisive influence on German post-war design and created furniture icons of timeless relevance.
