Stefan Diez - visionary product designer from Munich
The New Order system was designed by Stefan Diez, one of the leading German product designers of our time. The Munich-based designer founded his own studio in 2003 after receiving his first training as the son of a master carpenter in his father's workshop - an influence that still defines his material-based way of working today. Diez studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and developed a design philosophy that is firmly rooted in the workshop and characterised by a passion for material experimentation. His work has been recognised internationally with major awards, including the iF Gold Award and the Red Dot Best of Design Award. Diez represents a future-orientated design approach that focuses on durability and quality - furniture for generations. In addition to the New Order System, he has also designed the Boa Table and the New Order Table for HAY.
