The Layout Side Chair 142 embodies a new generation of task chairs that not only adapt perfectly to the space, but also to the user. As part of the collection designed by Julien Renault, it combines a compact, armrest-free silhouette with the ergonomic flexibility of height adjustment. It is the ideal choice for modern office concepts, desk-sharing areas and the sophisticated home office. Its clear design language and high level of comfort are rounded off by a sustainable concept: All components are replaceable and recyclable, which significantly extends its service life.

Julien Renault - master of the simple form
Behind the Layout Chair is Belgian designer Julien Renault, who lives and works in Brussels. After studying at the ESAD in Reims and the ECAL in Lausanne, he founded his own studio in 2013. Renault is known for his ability to reduce objects to their most basic form without losing expression or functionality. His collaboration with HAY is characterised by a clear, almost architectural approach to furniture design that focuses on the longevity and adaptability of the product.
