The Layout Side Chair 123 from HAY is the ultimate synthesis of cosy comfort and clear, Scandinavian design. In this version, designer Julien Renault combines the modern plastic shell with a soft upholstered seat and a solid wooden frame. These three elements - fabric, wood and plastic - merge to create a chair that not only looks good, but also feels good and is ergonomic. It invites you to linger and lends every room, from the dining room to the meeting room, a warm and at the same time prestigious touch.

Julien Renault - The poetry of the everyday
The Layout Chair was created by French designer Julien Renault, who runs his studio in Brussels. Renault's approach to design is characterised by finding inspiration in the everyday and transforming ordinary things into objects of special beauty. His work, which combines rational methods with artistic freedom, explores the deep relationship between objects and their surroundings. He has already designed the successful Pastis collection and the Compass lamps for HAY, which emphasises his ability to create functional yet expressive designs.
