Ernesto Gismondi
Ernesto Gismondi was born in 1931 in San Remo, Italy. As an engineer for space technology, Ernesto Gismondi founded the company Artemide together with Sergio Mazza and introduced completely new and trend-setting technologies into the production of lamps.
From 1964 to 1984 Gismondi was a university professor in Milan, and in 1981 he founded the Memphis Group together with Ettore Sottsass.
As a designer, Gismondi created for Artemide, first under the pseudonym Örni Halloween, later under his own name, including the floor lamp classic "Aton", the hanging lamp "Halo" and the light column Metacolor.© Königsdorfer Medienhaus, Frechen
