Björn Dahlström - Swedish master of functionalism
The Velit side table was designed by Swedish designer Björn Dahlström, a leading figure in contemporary Scandinavian design. Born in Stockholm in 1957, Dahlström began his career in the 1980s and quickly made a name for himself with his work for renowned brands such as Iittala, Kasthall and Magis. His style is deeply rooted in Scandinavian functionalism, but is characterised by a soft, expressive design language. Dahlström's work has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Torsten & Wanja Söderberg Prize, and is represented in the collections of the National Museum in Stockholm and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
