The Navy Officer swivel chair was designed by Jasper Morrison, one of the most influential product designers of our time. Born in London in 1959, Morrison studied design at Kingston Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. His design philosophy is characterised by the conviction that "objects should never shout" - a principle that is reflected in his work for renowned manufacturers such as Vitra, Cappellini, Flos and Alessi. Morrison was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2020 and holds the title of Royal Designer for Industry (RDI), one of the highest design honours in the United Kingdom. His designs have been recognised with numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro Career Award and twelve iF Product Design Awards. With the Navy Officer chair, Morrison also demonstrates his exceptional flair for merging tradition and innovation into a harmonious whole.
