Intelligent living with the A Line collection
With the A Line collection, Form & Refine proves that functional furniture can serve several purposes and be well presented at the same time. The A Line chest bench, for example, can not only be used for additional storage space and more order, but can also be used as a bench for several people.
The A Line shoe rack is also constructed according to the same principle. Shoes can be stored in the lower area and above, the piece of furniture functions as a console table. It is therefore ideally suited for entrance areas or hallways.
Sustainability in focus
The primary goal when Form & Refine was founded was to make a sustainable difference in furniture production. Therefore, the commitment to sustainability is writ large at Form & Refine.
- Reduce carbon footprint: On the one hand, they want to keep their carbon footprint as low as possible by processing only local materials in local workshops. The aim is to have a maximum radius of 100 km from the materials to the workshops. Therefore, only European wood is used for Form & Refine products and the use of tropical woods is deliberately avoided. On the other hand, transport by air is avoided for environmentally friendly reasons.
- Durable products: In keeping with the Scandinavian motto of "Slow Living", the product range is gradually expanded to include a few good products instead of as many products as possible in a short time. The focus is therefore on the durability of the products, which should last for generations. Therefore, the focus is on timeless design and excellent ecological quality.
- Social justice: By cooperating with family businesses and workshops in social institutions, these are to be strengthened and the well-being of the individual is to the fore. In addition, old craft traditions can thus be maintained and further appreciated at the respective locations. For example, the products of the A Line collection are manufactured in a family-run carpentry workshop in the mountain town of Jajce in the centre of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
- Use of natural materials: When manufacturing products, Form & Refine relies exclusively on the use of durable and sustainable materials. These include, for example, resources such as wood, copper, steel, stone and alpaca wool. The use of aluminium is deliberately avoided because of its high energy consumption during production. In addition, no chemicals or other toxins are used in production to protect people and the environment.
