Interstuhl – Success through pioneering spirit
The company was founded in 1930 by Wilhelm Link as a farrier's shop in Tieringen (Baden-Württemberg). Due to the decline in horse ownership after the end of World War II, Link and his son Werner developed a new business idea: Recognizing a shortage of comfortable seating for seamstresses in the textile industry, the duo invented suitable chairs for these workers in 1961 and began manufacturing industrial work chairs. The Interstuhl brand was introduced in 1967. The company, still family-run today, is now one of the leading suppliers of industrial and office chairs and continues to produce in Germany. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, always coupled with a commitment to sustainability, they create excellent design products that meet the highest quality standards.
