The Layout Side Chair 121 from HAY celebrates the timeless aesthetics of Scandinavian design through the harmonious combination of wood and plastic. In this version designed by Julien Renault, the modern, recycled plastic shell rests on a solid four-legged frame made of solid wood. This combination gives the chair a natural warmth and an inviting, cosy appearance, without losing the clear and light design language of the collection. Julien Renault - The poetry of the everyday
The Layout Chair was created by French designer Julien Renault, who runs his studio in Brussels. Renault's design approach is characterised by finding inspiration in the everyday and transforming ordinary things into objects of special beauty. His work, which combines rational methods with artistic freedom, explores the deep relationship between objects and their surroundings. He has already designed the successful Pastis collection and the Compass lamps for HAY, which emphasises his ability to create functional yet expressive designs.
