The Layout Side Chair 143 is the crowning glory of the collection and offers maximum ergonomic adaptability in an elegant, minimalist design. It combines a compact, armrest-free form with infinitely variable height adjustment and a tilting mechanism that encourages dynamic sitting. This model was designed for demanding workstations where the chair has to adapt to the user and their movements - not the other way round. Of course, it remains true to the sustainable principles of the series: all parts are replaceable and recyclable, making it an intelligent and long-lasting investment.
Julien Renault - The poetry of the everyday
The Layout Chair was created by French designer Julien Renault, who runs his studio in Brussels. Renault's approach to design is characterised by finding inspiration in the everyday and transforming ordinary things into objects of special beauty. His work, which combines rational methods with artistic freedom, explores the deep relationship between objects and their surroundings. He has already designed the successful Pastis collection and the Compass lamps for HAY, which emphasises his ability to create functional yet expressive designs.
