Aurélien Barbry - master of elegant simplicity
The Aplat table lamp was created by French designer Aurélien Barbry, who is known for his ability to reinterpret everyday objects and give them an elegant, sculptural quality. After graduating from the prestigious École Camondo in Paris, Barbry worked for the famous architect Jean Nouvel before setting up his own studio in Copenhagen in 2007. His designs for brands such as HAY, Georg Jensen and Le Klint are characterised by a clear, intuitive design language that always follows human needs and transforms complex ideas into simple, functional beauty.
