Konstantin Grcic - master of reduction
The Monza dining table was designed by Konstantin Grcic, one of the most influential German designers of our time. Born in Munich in 1965, he trained as a carpenter at the renowned John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood before studying design at the Royal College of Art in London. Grcic's designs are known for their formal rigour, intelligent use of materials and subtle irony. His work has been awarded numerous international prizes, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro, and is represented in the collections of major museums such as the MoMA in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. With the Monza table, Grcic once again demonstrates his extraordinary flair for combining industrial production methods with precision craftsmanship and a timeless, elegant design language.
