Designer Jukka Setäla
Jukka Setäla studied at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki until 1996. Since his graduation, he has been working as a freelance furniture and lighting designer. Many of his products are industrial designs, but his best-known product comes from the furniture sector: the Fatboy beanbag. The oversized beanbag can be used both at home and in modern offices. Setälä has participated in numerous exhibitions with his designs and has also received prizes such as the Excellent Swedish Design Award for his products. Since 1999, he has also been a lecturer at his alma mater.
Fatboy - guarantor for comfortable sitting
The foundation stone for Fatboy was laid in 1998 by the Finnish designer Jukka Setäla when he designed a unique beanbag. A name was quickly found, not because of its dimensions, but after the artist Fatboy Slim. The Dutchman Alex Bergmann recognised the potential of the design and acquired the exclusive sales rights in 2003. Since then, Fatboy has continued to develop and so, in addition to the absolute hero of the range, the beanbag, many other products can now be found in the manufacturer's portfolio. All products pursue a common goal - to free the user from his daily routine and to give him a big grin.
Material and size
The cover of the beanbag is made of high-quality nylon fabric. It is water and dirt repellent. The inside of the Fatboy consists of an EPS filling. It is 140 cm wide and 180 cm deep.
Attention: Intensive use can cause the filling to shrink after a while. With the refill set, you can completely exchange the filling of your beanbag (350 litres) or fill it up (100 litres).
