Incredibly comfortable: Grand Relax Armchair & Ottoman by Vitra
An absolutely luxurious recliner - the Grand Relax by Vitra offers maximum comfort with compact dimensions and a classic, understated design language. The interaction of the various elements and the high-quality leather upholstery create the ultimate in comfort. You can be sure that we definitely do not use superlatives inflationary at this point - this armchair is simply incredibly comfortable!
The seat and back cushions are surrounded by high-quality leather and lie loosely on the armchair, so that they snuggle up to the user and yet always return to their original shape. The user slowly sinks into the armchair when sitting down and is perfectly absorbed by the integrated mechanism. The seat and back move independently of each other in a synchronous relationship. A rotary knob offers the possibility to adjust the sequence of the mechanism and a locking in any position is thus made possible. The elegant four-star base can be rotated through 360 degrees.
Together with the matching ottoman as a footrest, a perfect seating opportunity is created!
Antonio Citterio - Designer
Antonio Citterio opened his own design studio at the age of 22 and worked with Terry Dawn on buildings in Europe and Japan from 1987 to 1996. Together with Patricia Viel he founded an interdisciplinary studio for architecture, interior design and graphic design in 2000. In addition to Vitra, he works with many other well-known companies in the design furniture industry, such as B&B Italia Flos, Kartell and Technogym.
Material and size
The body of the armchair is made of polyurethane moulded foam with a plastic frame and an integrated, lockable synchronous mechanism. The base frame consists of a rotating four-star base in die-cast aluminium, polished or powder-coated. The cushions are chamber cushions with a foam filling, fibre balls (seat cushion) or goose feather/down mixture (back/neck cushion). Both the back cover and the edging of the substructure of the seat and ottoman and the lever for force adjustment are covered with Forte split leather.
