Ball bearing: the Stone Spice Mill by Tom Dixon. Take a bowl of white marble, a shining brass ball, add spice, and grind until it is fine enough.
The Stone spice grinder is probably the easiest - and certainly most casual - way to crush pepper, herbs or other spices. And this is how it works: With the palm of your hand, let the ball circle within the marble bowl using pressure.
Tom Dixon has already extensively tested the Stone spice grinder in his London restaurant and approved.
The Tom Dixon spice mill weighs 1.9 kilogram thus it is a real heavyweight. On the underside of the marble bowl is the Tom-Dixon logo. The so-called Morwad marble from India is used for the mortar. The "pestle", the grinding ball, is made of high-quality brass and a core made of cast iron. It is polished, but not lacquered for reasons of food quality. The Stone spice grinder has a width and depth of 13 cm as well as a height of 8 cm.
If you are looking for a "classic" mortar, we recommend the Stone mortar and pestle - also from the Stone collection. With a weight of six kilograms, the spice crushing process becomes very easy. You can also order it online from us.
